DTV classification - stars for holiday accommodation: If one prefers to be on the safe side when choosing holiday accommodation, one can rely on the DTV stars. The yellow, eight-pointed symbols shine on around 26,000 holiday accommodation in Germany. The classification signalises: This holiday accommodation has been assessed and classified according to nationwide standardised criteria. Depending on the facilities and services, one to five stars can be assigned - from basic to exclusive category. In this way, guests know what they can expect. Since 1994, independent and trained auditors have been assessing holiday accommodation. The certificate is valid for three years.

The classification covers vacation homes, vacation apartments, and vacation rooms. Guesthouses, inns, and bed-and-breakfasts that are not hotel-like, as well as vacation parks and unique accommodations such as tiny houses, treehouses, or houseboats, are also qualified for classification.
